Last weekend, I experienced two monstrously beautiful shoes during which, heads-up against the dealer, I lost I think about 3 hands and won the rest.
The blackjack streak strategy is, there was absolutely no reason for that to be happening -- TC was around zero the entire time.
He just kept hiding 6s and 5s under his dealer 10, drawing to 17, etc etc.
So here's the question.
You're on this streak.
The dealer seams to always bust or lose.
And this keeps going and going for 10-15 minutes.
What would y'all have done?
Quote: arcticfun Last weekend, I experienced two monstrously beautiful shoes during which, heads-up against the dealer, I lost I think about 3 hands and won the rest.
The thing is, there was absolutely no reason for that to be happening -- TC was around zero the entire time.
He just kept hiding 6s and 5s under his dealer 10, drawing to 17, etc etc.
So here's blackjack streak strategy question.
You're on this streak.
The dealer seams to always bust or lose.
And this keeps going and going for 10-15 minutes.
What would y'all have done?
I would have pressed a little bit, for cover.
At TC 0 it doesn't cost you much.
If you are moving your bets up when the count goes up, it looks strange if you aren't increasing your bets while on a massive winning streak.
If you are a player who always flat-bets no matter what, it's no big deal That also means that if the count goes negative you have to get up and leave the table.
But I do that anyway.
Quote: arcticfun So here's the question.
You're on this streak.
The dealer seams to always bust or lose.
And this keeps going and going for 10-15 minutes.
What would y'all have done?
Definitely push bets, just like I did before learning to count.
It's extra gravy, if someone's tracking your bets against the count, you look like another progression bettor, and on your really good days, the pack goes favorable and you can jack your bets even higher without alerting the pit.
To keep flat betting 50, 50, 50.
It's even worse if the next shoe goes massively positive and now you're increasing bets whereas you refused to during a recent hot streak.
If the pack heads south, and you lose a bet, that's a good time to take a "restroom break".
I always had just enough to beat the dealer.
I do regret not pressing a little more, but I was happy to break even for the day.
I like the idea of streaks and taking advantage of them, but how do you know when you are in a winning loosing streak!?
I mean how many hands do you call a streak!?
I see people keep doubling their bet when they win, once, twice, three times, four times.
Then again they say the chances of the same numbers come in the lottery the next week is the same - I think I need to read up more on my stats knowledge to get all this.
Anyway, I always wonder when blackjack streak strategy streak is really a streak, when does it begin and finish, who knows.
I will usually increase my bet after a couple of wins in a row, then I will keep adding chips if the wins continue.
If they visit web page is in my favor, I will ramp up quicker but I have had some really high bets in very negative counts.
Quote: aruzin I see people keep doubling their bet when they win, once, twice, three times, four times.
This is absolutely and totally incorrect.
The probability of losing 5 hands in a row before making the first play is.
But the probability of losing a fifth hand, given four losses, is still 0.
Quote: arcticfun This is absolutely and totally incorrect.
The probability of losing 5 hands in a row before making the first play is.
But the probability of losing a fifth hand, given four losses, is still 0.
You are correct, my explanation was not right above.
Although I never considered an infinite deck, I was thinking about 6 deck shoe.
It's about 30 years since I studied statistics properly, Bayes Theorem is not just a bit fuzzy but completely faded in my memory.
Although I deal with simple concepts regularly at work, variance, standard deviation etc.
For example we are talking about steaks and sequence of events.
For simplicity let's look at the coin toss, every event has 50% possibilities of head or tail.
Now throw a trillion coin blackjack streak strategy, draw a chart of occurrences of consecutive sequences of 2 heads or tails, 3 heads or tails, 4 heads or tails.
It should form a perfect bell shaped, normal distribution graph centred at 1 and the 100 consecutive events should be way down the skirts of the bell.
That says, there are not blackjack streak strategy many occurrences of the 100 heads or tails coming up - I can't remember the formula to say exactly how much away from mean it is for 50% coin toss chance.
So this is a concept of streaks, or am More info mixing up things.
Is that correct that long streaks of events in a truly random system is less likely than small ones, isn't that a similar concept in BJ game.
Dealer should bust about 30% of the time, though, of course she blackjack streak strategy go on and not bust for 20 consecutive hands, very true, but how often should that happen, and should we not scratch our heads when it does!?
Now I have no idea how and if it is possible to make money out of this on BJ - probably not as the sample sizes are too restricted, but that bell shaped normal distribution graph should apply for random enough events.
BTW, please feel free to correct me, in fact I have read some stuff on internet, but don't quite understand why no one mention this at all when talking about Blackjack streak strategy Fallacy or Gambler's Bias etc.
Streaks always end when you press the bet.
Never second guess a winning session.

What are the Odds of Losing 6 Hands in a Row?
Posted February 18, 2016 by Among emails I receive, a fairly common question is something like this: Can you tell me the odds of losing six hands in a row at blackjack?
Sometimes it is 5 hands, sometimes 8, sometimes more.
No matter, I cringe whenever I get this question.
In either case, there is nothing wrong with the matter-of-fact question being blackjack streak strategy, but it is apparent to the recipient that the question is likely a clue to dangerous thinking, whether it be the Hindenburg or the.
Most people asking this question want an answer that is a single number or percentage, representing how likely the event is to occur.
If you want to understand the difference, Google it.
Your question is incomplete There is a crucial piece of information missing from your question.
How do you plan to play?
I cannot resist the temptation of pointing out that virtually no player who asks this question will know a completely accurate basic strategy!
Still not clear yet There is another picky detail to consider.
I assume you are not asking for the probability of losing exactly six hands in a row, which implies that the seventh hand cannot be a loss.
Instead, you want to know the probability of losing six or more hands in a row.
We can easily sidestep that complication, if we simply say that you want article source know the probability of losing the next six hands blackjack streak strategy blackjack.
For a typical shoe game, a basic strategy player will win 43.
If I answer the revised and improved question What is the probability of losing the next six hands at blackjack, using basic strategy?
Since each hand has a 48.
What if you lose the first hand, push the second hand, and lose the next five hands in a row?
You would probably want to call that losing six in a row.
We should just ignore pushes altogether, and only count hands that end in a win or a loss.
Of blackjack streak strategy hands, players win 47.
Finally an answer that may satisfy you: What is the probability of losing the next six hands at blackjack, using basic strategy, ignoring pushes?
The answer is 0.
That is roughly 1 in 47 attempts.
What about other length losing streaks?
Probability of losing n hands in a row, ignoring pushes.
Most commonly, they have rediscovered the infamous Martingale system, where you double up after any losing hands to catch up.
The Martingale is the simplest of the negative progression betting systems.
The idea is simple.
If you lose one hand, just double your bet on the next hand.
Eventually, you will win a hand, and make back all of your losses plus a profit of the initial bet.
Check the table above.
The probabilities get small, but not nearly small enough.
Why you should NOT bet the Martingale If you think the Martingale is a good idea, you are badly mistaken.
Yes, it gives you a high percentage chance of winning a small amount, but it does not take long to run out of luck.
And he will run into that fatal eighth loss once every 170 trials on average.
Yes, I am oversimplifying because doubles and splits make the math very messy.
The real numbers still make this a very bad idea.
On top of that, blackjack is a terrible choice for the Martingale system.
With the necessary doubles and splits, sometimes both on the same hand, you will actually need a far larger bankroll to play correct basic strategy.
Any series of negative expectation bets is guaranteed to create a negative expectation overall.
If you are just playing for fun, you will lose less money by flat-betting.
If you are playing for profit, you need to find a true way to get an edge, such as counting cards.

The Martingale system loses because the player runs out of real estate betting room and the reason for this question is obviousbut necessary.
How many times will you lose X hands before you WIN Y hands.
I have done thousands can blackjack live action interesting simulations using basic strategy and I do NOT get the same rate of losses to wins as the chart abovetrue odds or not.
Out of curiosity, what site was this with?
Is it just me, or do you feel like some versions of blackjack are not being inspected properly?
On the 6th loss I would be broke.
I have experienced similar results while doing thousands of non computer real play hands.
My loss percentage is smaller than the true odds would indicateleaving room for consistent profits.
Have the proper banks and a solid betting plan in place.
Be patient and play like a machine.
You should absolutely WIN in the end.
I realize this post is old, but the most common thing that happens to me Is if I draw a 12.
I almost always, no exaggeration, I hit, and 8 out of 10 times I draw a face card.
Dealers make hands on 12 like it their jobwait, it is.
I asked the casino why this was and they told me I had bad luck Wow.
First of all, this article addressed the losing nature of reverse progression as related to BlackJack almost.
It was simplified to large degree.
However, the author is corrects in two major points.
First being that in and of itself, Martingale will fail at BlackJack over the long run.
Second is that a vast majority of players will not make the optimum decisions each and every time to increase their odds given ANY particular strategy.
Never by itself of course.
Regardless, as with any mathematical game, you have to take into account strategy, and objective.

Tested my suspicions again.

My suspicion has again been confirmed.
However I have NO EVIDENCE other than circumstance.
So I need to know if anyone else has experienced this.
I think they do.
I have also witnessed every player having 20 including the dealer.
I think this is due to lack of shuffling.
No wonder they allow basic strategy charts.
Cards are not coming out random as they should to make the game fair.
Or it could be a simple mathematical deviation.
Regardless your theory falls apart on your own premise.

Ive read some of these and am curious.
Through observation and the probability somehow favoring the dealer.
The spread of cards sometimes seems astronomically improbable, such as last night where the dealer gets 4 aces in a row with kings.
Now this is a reputable casino of course.
So my question is.
I ignored blackjacks in this simplified comparison, just like I ignored doubles and splits.
The math gets quite a bit messier, although I suppose it would fairly easy to account for only the blackjacks.
The conclusion is however unavoidable.
In blackjack, your expected loss is the total of your bets times the house edge, unless you vary your bets based on the deck composition instead of some scheme based on a string of wins or losses.
No progression can change that fact.
Feel free to work it out in laborious detail if that interests you.
If Simulation agree, Why?
See this: Why does your basic strategy recommend always standing on a pair of sevens, where as you hit a hard 14 when the dealer shows 6 or more?
Or Surrender if available!
Well, single deck is a lot different.
The effect of removing each card is substantial in single deck.
In this case, what card would you prefer to draw here?
But there are only two 7s left in the deck.
That swings this decision to make standing better than hitting.
These 74 year-old eyes play tricks on me.
Sorry I know i m off topic but i don t know where to post.
I had a new idea to count down cards.
Is there anyone who can give me an help please?
